The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of PTB Football Club:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ:s goal. In the 21st match minute, Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Witalis Malik might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Bezerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Witalis Malik ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 38th minute Witalis Malik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Witalis Malik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Bezerra having to interfere. After 68 minutes, Diego Dante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ and the PTB Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card.
