The Leripe Lifestyle fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Fábio Cardoso should have stopped the shot. After 10 minutes, Mikel Jerzinger made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Leripe Lifestyle's Luís Fábio Cardoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luís Fábio Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Odysseus De Souza in the 13th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Mikel Jerzinger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Fábio Cardoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. If Odysseus De Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fábio Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Diederich in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute Fréderic Huerlimann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dieter Gärtner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zézinho Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Celsinho Eger took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dieter Gärtner. Dieter Gärtner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After 30 minutes, Florian Diederich mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Lugano and the Leripe Lifestyle players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zézinho Pontes hit a great ball. Celsinho Eger's late challenge caught a FC Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. After a rather tough play, Leripe Lifestyle's Celsinho Eger got a free kick in the 37th minute. After 38 played minutes, FC Lugano's Fréderic Huerlimann shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luís Fábio Cardoso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Lugano reached it. After 43 minutes, Zézinho Pontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leripe Lifestyle and the FC Lugano players grew even worse after the yellow card.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zézinho Pontes to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Leripe Lifestyle booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiziano Gamache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiziano Gamache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Fábio Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Diederich in the 96th minute of play. The FC Lugano supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Lugano would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
