Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 2 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Chico de Brito sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronaldo Ramos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 7 minutes into the match, Chico de Brito dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ronaldo Ramos, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio FBPA's zone, Vicente Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldo Ramos came out of the goal and Vicente Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Chico de Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Magalhães was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 12th minute. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 13 minutes, Chico de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chico de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Chico de Brito came free, but Ronaldo Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Chico de Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldo Ramos was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. A hard shot 19 in the game by Eusébio Magalhães from a close distance when the talented Ronaldo Ramos managed to make a qualified save. Grêmio FBPA's players were relieved. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Grêmio FBPA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eusébio Magalhães took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Grêmio FBPA's goalie and right to Fernandão de Amaral. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Grêmio FBPA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 25 minutes into the game, Vicente Chaves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio FBPA the free kick. After 25 played minutes Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Chaves. Cacá Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Chico de Brito sped through Grêmio FBPA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ronaldo Ramos. Ronaldo Ramos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Chico de Brito showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 42 minute of play. Chico de Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Cruzeiro Esporte Clube made a substitution. Tarcisio Goiano replaced Naldo Guedes. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renatinho Linhares was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Eusébio Magalhães cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Ronaldo Ramos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Renatinho Linhares took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldo Ramos. Ronaldo Ramos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. In the 62nd minute, Renatinho Linhares made a precise shot to the right of Ronaldo Ramos. Grêmio FBPA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. 66 minutes into the game, Fernandão de Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio FBPA the free kick. Fernandão de Amaral hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Ronaldo Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Afonsinho Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 70 minutes into the game, when Silvinho Perez put in a rough tackle. 69 minutes into the game, one of Grêmio FBPA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 74th match minute, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Garcia to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Marco Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexsandro de Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexsandro de Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexsandro de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Renatinho Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Renatinho Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldo Ramos having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Renatinho Linhares put it in 11-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ronaldo Ramos. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renatinho Linhares in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronaldo Ramos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Eusébio Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldo Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94thth minute of the game Renatinho Linhares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio FBPA's Ronaldo Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
