The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute, Velasco Vives left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ciruel Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Ciruel Academy's Pedro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robin Hellkvist in the 13th minute of play. Jan Fagerberg hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Dan Lagerberg acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 15th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tabb Barral. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Billesholm's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tabb Barral was slow to take the kick. During this time Ciruel Academy's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Ciruel Academy booed when Billesholm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Hedberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tabb Barral was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 18th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Velasco Vives came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Ciruel Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Velasco Vives couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the match, Billesholm's goalkeeper Dan Lagerberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Velasco Vives. Velasco Vives made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 34thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Dan Lagerberg would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Jaba Li took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dan Lagerberg. Billesholm's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 43rd minute José Puyol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Lagerberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Dan Lagerberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Velasco Vives, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Lagerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Velasco Vives, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Dan Lagerberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Velasco Vives in the 61st minute of play. When Ciruel Academy's Velasco Vives in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Estebano Vuelta in the 79th minute of play forced Billesholm's goalkeeper Dan Lagerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the game, José Puyol cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Dan Lagerberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th match minute, Billesholm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingmar Blomberg to maneuver through the defense. Velasco Vives sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ciruel Academy fans cheered their team off the field, for while Billesholm had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
