Los Delfines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomáš Kožený was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Academia 1903 from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Abeitia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Primo Speranza came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Los Delfines's Oscar Orzaize. But to his dismay, Oscar Orzaize quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 65th minute Abdulhamit Beycan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Primo Speranza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Academia 1903's Pastor Elequemedo got a free kick in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Urbez in the 90th minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primo Speranza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Urbez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
