The Canalla Fuego fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Villa Mitre City from getting a goal against them. Ariel Ponc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricky Kalischer in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute of the match, Ricky Kalischer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ariel Ponc saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Canalla Fuego's Clemente Benvido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdinando Buccella in the 18th minute of play. Ariel Ponc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricky Kalischer in the 21st minute of the match. Canalla Fuego were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Villa Mitre City's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Diguinho Paraíba took the corner. Diguinho Paraíba made a great header on Canalla Fuego's corner, it was just that Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Niceto Ponte put in a rough tackle. Canalla Fuego made a substitution. Carlos Aimar replaced Aristides Villanueva. In the 46th minute, one of Canalla Fuego:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Canalla Fuego. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Aimar to strike the kick off in the second half. Ariel Ponc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Rosini in the 54th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Aimar in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ariel Ponc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 59 minutes into the match, Canalla Fuego's goalkeeper Clemente Benvido had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Feliciano Fernendo. In the 60th match minute, Canalla Fuego was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Aimar to maneuver through the defense. Clemente Benvido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdinando Buccella's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Carlos Aimar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Ponc having to interfere. With his leg Clemente Benvido managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Villa Mitre City's Feliciano Fernendo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ariel Ponc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Aimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77thth minute of the game Carlos Aimar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Aimar in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The corner led to Canalla Fuego's Nicolae Honcioiu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Canalla Fuego's Clemente Benvido proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Canalla Fuego from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Feliciano Fernendo got free with Clemente Benvido in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kenny Sparkes hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute Carlos Aimar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canalla Fuego were awarded a corner in the 99th minute after Villa Mitre City's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Diguinho Paraíba took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Villa Mitre City's goalie and right to Carlos Aimar. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Villa Mitre City's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
