In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind OROTINENSE's goalkeeper Liu Yong Yong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Alberto Márcico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liu Yong Yong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severino Cucao kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Jacek Walczak took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Chiquinho Romero to make any attempt to save it. Liu Yong Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Merentiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Frontera AFC booed when OROTINENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Orihuela didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edison Cavani to strike the kick off in the second half. Frontera AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudio Leiton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Frontera AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
