In the 14th minute, Sílvio Luiz Munhoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elói Medeiros was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Valladares in the 20th minute of play forced FC St. Pauli's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Galo na Veia FC™'s Pedro Luiz Trevisan threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kiko Martins, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 33 minutes into the match, Kiko Martins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Luiz Trevisan. FC St. Pauli's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kiko Martins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Elói Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Schmidt in the 45th minute of play. Kiko Martins received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Luiz Trevisan came out and tried to block the shot, but Kiko Martins slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kiko Martins to strike the kick off in the second half. Elói Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Dário Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. Galo na Veia FC™'s Elói Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Galo na Veia FC™ from getting a goal against them. After 57 played minutes Galo na Veia FC™ got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Madureira. 61 minutes into the game, Dito Dionísio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC St. Pauli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galo na Veia FC™ the free kick. The supporters of Galo na Veia FC™ booed when FC St. Pauli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Alberto Negri came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Galo na Veia FC™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Negri couldn't finish the play. Dário Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elói Medeiros having to interfere. Elói Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Luiz Munhoz in the 72nd minute of the match. Pedro Luiz Trevisan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kiko Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 78th match minute, FC St. Pauli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Valladares in the 83rd minute of play forced FC St. Pauli's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Galo na Veia FC™'s goalkeeper Elói Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Luiz Munhoz. In the 86th minute FC St. Pauli were awarded a corner. Edmílson Toscano went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Jacinto Munhoz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Elói Medeiros quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Edmílson Toscano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th match minute, Galo na Veia FC™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Lago to maneuver through the defense. FC St. Pauli's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
