Ernesto Bezerra was a little too slow when Dorival Sarmento got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 3-0. A collision led to GLADIADORES getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Cido Goiano hit a great ball. Eurico Arantes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giuseppe da Costa went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Flavinho Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Bezerra having to interfere. Ernesto Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Giuseppe da Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Ernesto Bezerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. In the 45th match minute, Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Britto to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gugu Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Dorival Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the GLADIADORES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorival Sarmento couldn't finish the play. If Gláuber Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernesto Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavinho Brodel in the 95th minute of play. GLADIADORES walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
