Ichipuca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With his leg Rigoberto Nazario managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Ichipuca's Anastasio Montrel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 11 minutes into the match, Ichipuca's goal looked a bit too open when Sven de Zwaan came free, but Silverio Horado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rigoberto Nazario was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Paolo Belmiro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Paolo Belmiro really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Silverio Horado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eleuterio Milian in the 15th minute of play. Candido Sedeni kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute of the match Leon Richie sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silverio Horado skillfully saved the ball. Silverio Horado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Petruț Fințescu went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Mats Falch struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Silverio Horado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argentinos Juniors. Paolo Belmiro kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Silverio Horado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven de Zwaan in the 30th minute of play. Silverio Horado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven de Zwaan went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. In the 35th minute, Petruț Fințescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Argentinos Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Silverio Horado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petruț Fințescu in the 38th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Basilio Piorno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anastasio Montrel kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute of the match Mats Falch shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silverio Horado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Ichipuca defense, Sven de Zwaan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silverio Horado. The Ichipuca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silverio Horado should have stopped the shot. After the first half Argentinos Juniors were leading 1-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sven de Zwaan to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Petruț Fințescu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Silverio Horado. Petruț Fințescu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-8. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Belmiro in the 62nd minute of play forced Argentinos Juniors's goalkeeper Rigoberto Nazario to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silverio Horado was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Petruț Fințescu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Petruț Fințescu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-9. Silverio Horado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sven de Zwaan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-10 in the 70 minute of play. Silverio Horado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Petruț Fințescu went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-11 was the resulting score. Argentinos Juniors's Saturnino Arixo was substituted for Baldomero Lucila. Sven de Zwaan scored 1-12 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silverio Horado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven de Zwaan in the 81st minute of play forced Ichipuca's goalkeeper Silverio Horado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Sven de Zwaan made a precise shot to the right of Silverio Horado. Ichipuca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-13. In the 88th minute Paolo Belmiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Nazario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silverio Horado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petruț Fințescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leon Richie kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Rigoberto Nazario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anastasio Montrel, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, Sven de Zwaan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silverio Horado was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-14. When the final whistle sounded Argentinos Juniors left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ichipuca.
