In the 57th minute, Gino Rezende ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kitt Pegov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerson Alvarenga during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Coritiba Foot Ball Club getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Gerson Alvarenga hit a great ball. Roberto Biaggio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Kitt Pegov made a huge save. Kitt Pegov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Célio Queirós in the 72nd minute of the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Walmir Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Austra VFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coritiba Foot Ball Club the free kick. The Austra VFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Coritiba Foot Ball Club were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
