After 21 minutes, Rubén Martínez made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Kiepscy's Gerry Bibby tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Rubén Martínez came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Colo-Colo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubén Martínez couldn't finish the play. After 25th play minutes Rubén Martínez shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Gerry Bibby and just under the crossbar into goal. Colo-Colo's Rubén Martínez was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 28th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 33 minutes into the game, Emerson Pereira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gerry Bibby. Emerson Pereira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-0. 37 minutes into the match, Rubén Martínez notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Kiepscy's Gerry Bibby. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 9-0 at half-time.

In the 53rdth minute of the game Rubén Martínez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kiepscy's Gerry Bibby was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 55 minutes of play, Colo-Colo's Rubén Martínez made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 62nd minute Rubén Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerry Bibby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 63 minutes, José Julio Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colo-Colo's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Julio Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerry Bibby didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Colo-Colo's Carlitos Caszely shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 12-0 in the ordered_time% minute. The Colo-Colo fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when Colo-Colo's Rubén Martínez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 14-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Colo-Colo made a substitution. Reinaldo Christie replaced Rubén Martínez. Gerry Bibby came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Colo-Colo's Reinaldo Christie. But to his dismay, Reinaldo Christie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 17-0. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Carlitos Caszely put it in 18-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gerry Bibby. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo Christie in the 100th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerry Bibby saved Kiepscy from getting behind. When the referee ended the match the Colo-Colo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
