The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaetan Slaghmeulders in the 3rd minute of play forced Akashicos's goalkeeper Marco Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th match minute, Akashicos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Severo to maneuver through the defense. In the 5thth minute of the game Erik Lund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Akashicos's Marco Queiroz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nereo Argina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marco Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, Nereo Argina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marco Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cido Custódio hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute of the match Adolfo Obeko shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Queiroz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gaetan Slaghmeulders took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Queiroz. Marco Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 20 minutes into the match, Nereo Argina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Queiroz. Akashicos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nereo Argina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 25th minute, Erik Lund made a precise shot to the right of Marco Queiroz. Akashicos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After some careless play in the Akashicos defense, Nereo Argina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Queiroz. The Akashicos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Queiroz should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute, Nereo Argina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Erik Lund's late challenge caught a Akashicos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erik Lund helped the player get up and apologised. Erik Lund hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The supporters of Akashicos booed when River was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Henrico didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olavo Vale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Erik Lund took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Marco Queiroz to make any attempt to save it. Marco Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Argina in the 55th minute of the match. 62 minutes in the game, Erik Lund fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Marco Queiroz having to interfere. In the 64th match minute, Akashicos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmelo Montrell to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, River's Marco Queiroz threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nereo Argina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Erik Lund struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Marco Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River. Marco Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Argina in the 69th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Lund got free with Marco Queiroz in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of River booed when Akashicos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cido Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erik Lund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Queiroz having to interfere. Akashicos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Erik Lund scored to the left of an out of position Marco Queiroz, making the score, 0-10. 80 minutes into the match, Akashicos's goal looked a bit too open when Gaetan Slaghmeulders came free, but Marco Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Akashicos's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Argina came free, but Marco Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Gaetan Slaghmeulders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Argina in the 96th minute of the match. The River supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing River would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
