The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anselmo Gama made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şükrü Yazargil in the 7th minute of the match. Branislav Velchevski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Assunção in the 13th minute. MACAU. F.C's Anselmo Gama played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Gabon in the 14th minute of play. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Olle Snell got a free kick in the 15th minute. After 17 minutes, Alberto Sobral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MACAU. F.C and the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alberto Sobral kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. If Angelo Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelo Assunção could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. Arnaldo Gabon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anselmo Gama read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Branislav Velchevski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Assunção in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albino Cugat was the one to do the kick off. The corner led ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis to fire away a dangerous shot which Anselmo Gama despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rafael Dalmu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Anselmo Gama when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albino Cugat, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the match, MACAU. F.C's goalkeeper Anselmo Gama had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olle Snell. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albino Cugat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. MACAU. F.C made a substitution. The corner led MACAU. F.C's Bater Pivetta to fire away a dangerous shot which Branislav Velchevski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Assunção in the 84th minute of the match. MACAU. F.C's Angelo Assunção got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albino Cugat blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Branislav Velchevski having to make a save. When Esteban Iztal fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's protests and gave Esteban Iztal a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Bater Pivetta managed to get in a good position for a shot. MACAU. F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Bater Pivetta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Branislav Velchevski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see MACAU. F.C lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
