The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute of the game Hayri Pitirimov made a throw-in which Baldomero Hermon played forward. Baldomero Hermon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Dražen Ladić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes into the game, AC Morena's Aquiles Gana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hansjörg Wastl made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Hansjörg Wastl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Fonseca in the 13th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Henrique Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dražen Ladić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aquiles Gana might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hansjörg Wastl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aquiles Gana ran back to his position shaking his head. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Hansjörg Wastl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquiles Gana in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Morena's goalkeeper Dražen Ladić, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26th minute Henrique Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dražen Ladić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute of the match, Felippe Pitta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dražen Ladić saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Baldomero Hermon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Dražen Ladić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Ivakin kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Henrique Borges recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dražen Ladić. Henrique Borges showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aquiles Gana was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Henrique Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute, Henrique Borges ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dražen Ladić was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Edu Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 70th minute Edu Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dražen Ladić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Aquiles Gana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hansjörg Wastl. Aquiles Gana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. A collision led to AC Morena getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Jerzy Piwowarski hit a great ball. In the 80th match minute, AC Morena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerzy Piwowarski to maneuver through the defense. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Aquiles Gana scored to the left of an out of position Hansjörg Wastl, making the score, 2-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edu Carvalho in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dražen Ladić prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
