Fausto Mendonça blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Loramendi Cabarcos having to make a save. Loramendi Cabarcos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raigo Vananurm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 15 minutes into the match, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Mendonça came free, but Loramendi Cabarcos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Loramendi Cabarcos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Mendonça in the 17th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fausto Mendonça in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Loramendi Cabarcos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 24 minutes E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edward Krzynowek who took care of the corner kick. Loramendi Cabarcos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fausto Mendonça went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Neymar Junior sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neymar Junior fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Proença having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Fausto Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loramendi Cabarcos was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

RIO DE JANEIRO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edward Krzynowek was slow to take the kick. During this time Scarlet Speedster's players had a chance to rest. Edward Krzynowek made a great header on Scarlet Speedster's corner, it was just that E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Loramendi Cabarcos managed to reach the ball for a save. Fausto Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Loramendi Cabarcos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarlet Speedster. Ryszard Janiczek hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The supporters of Scarlet Speedster booed when E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute, Váldson Bittencourt fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Loramendi Cabarcos, passed just outside the right post. Raigo Vananurm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Loramendi Cabarcos made a huge save. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Fausto Mendonça scored to the left of an out of position Loramendi Cabarcos, making the score, 0-3. 73 minutes into the match, Fausto Mendonça dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Loramendi Cabarcos, 0-4. The audience was convinced that Fausto Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loramendi Cabarcos was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. In the 77th minute Scarlet Speedster were awarded a corner. Edward Krzynowek went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Jens-Ove Eriksson got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-5. 78 minutes into the match. Fausto Mendonça took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Loramendi Cabarcos. Loramendi Cabarcos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Loramendi Cabarcos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fausto Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Raigo Vananurm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Loramendi Cabarcos. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raigo Vananurm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Fausto Mendonça blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Loramendi Cabarcos having to make a save. Fausto Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Loramendi Cabarcos made a huge save. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Loramendi Cabarcos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO from getting a goal against them. When Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's zone, Fausto Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Loramendi Cabarcos came out of the goal and Fausto Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th match minute, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Lucas to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Scarlet Speedster walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
