Neymar Junior might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cássio Corinth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Neymar Junior ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Lion Messi got a free kick in the 14th minute. Loramendi Cabarcos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingvar Strand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes, Ingvar Strand made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Loramendi Cabarcos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Oswaldo Pitta charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
