After 9 minutes of play, Estudiantes de América's Kraig Fred made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fumo Pocock was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Oshyros ll's Alonzo Sal got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute Cristian Egoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kraig Fred in the 21st minute of play forced Oshyros ll's goalkeeper Fumo Pocock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristian Egoitz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de América's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Egoitz came free, but Marcos Ranolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fumo Pocock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Traian Blăniță in the 83rd minute. Marcos Ranolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Intxixu in the 85th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Korneliusz Miodek during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Estudiantes de América getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Korneliusz Miodek hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Oshyros ll's Isaac Intxixu got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Isaac Intxixu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Ranolfo. Estudiantes de América's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isaac Intxixu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Estudiantes de América's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
