In the 22nd minute Mannie Erus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herminio Pirmin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aldo Mikolas hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Alfonso Bikendi's late challenge caught a Celta de Virgos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfonso Bikendi helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, RB Chubut's Alfonso Bikendi got a free kick in the 27th minute. Prospero Maju made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joel Servando in the 29th minute. After 34 played minutes RB Chubut got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Cristos. In the 44th minute, Mannie Erus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

RB Chubut made a substitution. Andrézinho Pelé replaced Alfonso Bikendi. RB Chubut's Lázaro Quico was substituted for Adrian Cristos. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mannie Erus made a kick off. Joel Servando took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Prospero Maju. Prospero Maju dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Prospero Maju took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Servando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's Joel Servando sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Prospero Maju narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, RB Chubut's Fernand Redondo got a free kick in the 71st minute. Celta de Virgos's Ernesto Iraitz was substituted for Joel Servando. The supporters of Celta de Virgos booed when RB Chubut was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernand Redondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind RB Chubut's goalkeeper Prospero Maju, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
