Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the game, Ceyhan Celvet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Juaneizu Merida was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 28 minutes into the match, Golden Dragón F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Grabiel Escorcia came free, but Hilario Pesquera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ceyhan Celvet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th match minute, Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Luis Rodríguez to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Grabiel Escorcia was the one to do the kick off. Grabiel Escorcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hilario Pesquera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grabiel Escorcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hilario Pesquera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grabiel Escorcia in the 54th minute of the match. Camilo Candido kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. The supporters of Golden Dragón F.C booed when Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Candido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dario Betzanos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Juaneizu Merida came out and tried to block the shot, but Dario Betzanos slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 60th minute. When Grabiel Escorcia came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Nacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grabiel Escorcia couldn't finish the play. Hilario Pesquera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grabiel Escorcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 73 minutes into the match, Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Betzanos came free, but Juaneizu Merida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nacional made a substitution. Ranolfo Piedrahita replaced Luciano Inverso. Nacional's attentive Camilo Candido managed to snatch the ball when Paşa Ali Rahmi made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. Dario Betzanos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Juaneizu Merida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nacional's Juaneizu Merida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandez Vizcarreto in the 90th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Grabiel Escorcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Pesquera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Dario Betzanos took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Juaneizu Merida to make any attempt to save it. Golden Dragón F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
