An unexpectedly hard shot by Toro Martínez in the 4th minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anacleto Navarro made in the 10th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Indiana Jones immediately put the ball in play. 11 minutes into the match, Despidida AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cleto Cordaro came free, but Fernando Selatse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes in the game Anacleto Navarro did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Indiana Jones. In the 16th minute Cleto Cordaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Selatse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute of the match, Kajetan Gdowik got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benjamin Tino was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 24th match minute, Despidida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ancho Branca to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute of the game Diego Portela made a throw-in which Enzo Bot played forward. When Toro Martínez came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Despidida AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toro Martínez couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Despidida AFC booed when Club El Progreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Navarro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamin Tino acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 31st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Emanuel Lucila. In the 33rd minute of the match Bonifacio Txindoki sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Selatse skillfully saved the ball. In the 35th minute Club El Progreso were awarded a corner. Adolfo Fidensio went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 38th match minute, Despidida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kees Harmsen to maneuver through the defense. After 39 played minutes, Club El Progreso's Adolfo Fidensio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernando Selatse came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club El Progreso reached it. Benjamin Tino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toro Martínez, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the game, Diego Portela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club El Progreso's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Despidida AFC the free kick. The supporters of Despidida AFC booed when Club El Progreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Portela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Toro Martínez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diego Portela hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Toro Martínez to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Indiana Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Selatse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute Pastor Tino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute Emiliano Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Dinu Ivănescu notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino. Benjamin Tino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Club El Progreso's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
