But to his dismay, Mario Remicio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The supporters of San Fernando Eagles booed when C. A. Santos Confesor charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Potrero's Pablo Acevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Remicio in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, San Fernando Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Gizon came free, but Saul Etxeberri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 35 minutes, Laureano Ermano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Potrero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laureano Ermano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Severino Burutzagi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Potrero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Fernando Eagles the free kick. Severino Burutzagi kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Gizon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of San Fernando Eagles booed when C. A. Saul Etxeberri was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The San Fernando Eagles supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing San Fernando Eagles would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
