Hudson Peixoto charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hudson Peixoto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd match minute, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hudson Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. Nelsinho Marinho was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nelsinho Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Palestra do Interior's Walmir Dias threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nelsinho Marinho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 14 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Adrianinho Furtado came free, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walmir Dias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nelson Xavier in the 16th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Palestra do Interior's Ronaldo Pirani slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Walmir Dias. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. In the 21st match minute, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nildo Maciel to maneuver through the defense. Walmir Dias came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Ronaldo Pirani. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Pirani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nildo Maciel hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 31 played minutes Nelsinho Marinho scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Walmir Dias who was too lazy, 3-0. Luisão de Medeiros hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 35th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peder Neira to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute of the match Percival Leal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa Coutinho came free, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nelsinho Marinho struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Walmir Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra do Interior. Nildo Maciel's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nildo Maciel helped the player get up and apologised. Nildo Maciel hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Palestra do Interior's Téo Novaes was substituted for Fernandão Antunes. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafa Coutinho to make the kick off. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Adrianinho Furtado got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Orella kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Doni Pimenta's late challenge caught a Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doni Pimenta helped the player get up and apologised. Doni Pimenta hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafa Coutinho in the 67th minute. In the 73rd minute Nelson Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Téo Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 92nd minute of play forced Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalkeeper Walmir Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrianinho Furtado in the 97th minute. Adrianinho Furtado in the 97thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Antônio Carlos Cavalcante, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Palestra do Interior.
