Sérgio Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Pirani in the 2nd minute of the match. Higino Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 6 minutes into the game, Nelsinho Marinho lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Sérgio Passos. 9 minutes into the game, Pascoal Braga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GD JULIO DINIS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra do Interior the free kick. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when GD JULIO DINIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascoal Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldo Pirani in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sérgio Passos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelsinho Marinho got free with Sérgio Passos in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, Norberto Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldo Pirani got free with Sérgio Passos in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 minutes, Ronaldo Pirani made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. GD JULIO DINIS's Sérgio Passos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Xavier in the 20th minute of play forced GD JULIO DINIS's goalkeeper Sérgio Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Luisão de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sérgio Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sérgio Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Orella, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. When Zé Orella, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 30 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Sérgio Passos was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 35th minute of the match, Ronaldo Pirani got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sérgio Passos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisão de Medeiros in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sérgio Passos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Ronaldo Pirani took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Sérgio Passos to make any attempt to save it. Sérgio Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Pirani in the 45th minute of play.

Palestra do Interior's Téo Novaes was substituted for Fernandão Antunes. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldo Pirani was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Nelsinho Marinho hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, GD JULIO DINIS's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Marinho came free, but Sérgio Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sérgio Passos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sérgio Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Pirani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sérgio Passos came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Ronaldo Pirani. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Pirani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. The supporters of GD JULIO DINIS booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisão de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 97 played minutes GD JULIO DINIS got a freekick which was hit by Higino Abreu. Palestra do Interior walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
