Georgi Velinov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The throw-in from Tanel Kiik in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by CEARÁ ESPORTE CLUBE - DMZ's Cristiano Vidal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Giuseppe Falcão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Georgi Velinov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Arnulfo Roderigo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julian Drebit. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Marques in the 65th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
