Carlos Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Magic is Back's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcelo Trobbiani in the 17th minute. A collision led to Magic is Back getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Osvaldo Potente hit a great ball. Carlos Dracena made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Osvaldo Potente sent off a good shot on target. Bruno Coutinho struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Ruben Sánchez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarani MZC. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Palermo couldn't finish the play. When Fabian Cannavaro fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guarani MZC's protests and gave Fabian Cannavaro a yellow card for diving instead. 47 minutes into the game, Magic is Back's Martin Palermo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Dracena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Martin Palermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Dracena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Guarani MZC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcelo Trobbiani was slow to take the kick. During this time Magic is Back's players had a chance to rest. Osvaldo Potente made a great header on Magic is Back's corner, it was just that Guarani MZC's Carlos Dracena managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 61stth minute of the game Martin Palermo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guarani MZC's Carlos Dracena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Guarani MZC's Carlos Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Palermo in the 63rd minute of play. In the 67th match minute, Guarani MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Arce to maneuver through the defense. Magic is Back made a substitution. But to his dismay, Martin Palermo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Magic is Back had won after a very even match.
