With a little luck, Utopía Muerta FC's Mano Hume got control of the ball when Saturnino Curcio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Saturnino Curcio succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 18th playminute. After 22 minutes Sporting de Gijón's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fermin Martinez who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Fermin Martinez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba did a great save. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Johans in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Rune Fanström got a free kick in the 31st minute. Arkadiusz Piatek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mano Hume made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustacio Loiola in the 35th minute of play.
