The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, FC Karamba's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Francis came free, but Enrique Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th match minute, FC Karamba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albinas Matūzas to maneuver through the defense. Enrique Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 8th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Danas Nausėda in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Branislav Velchevski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the last second Branislav Velchevski throw himself and got hold of the ball when Danas Nausėda in the 11thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 14th minute, Elpidio Francis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 18 played minutes FC Karamba got a freekick which was hit by Albinas Matūzas. Branislav Velchevski made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Arif Oğuz Cevan sent off a good shot on target. Elpidio Francis might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrique Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elpidio Francis ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Francis in the 28th minute of play forced FC Karamba's goalkeeper Enrique Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arif Oğuz Cevan got free with Branislav Velchevski in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 34th minute, Elpidio Francis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrique Mazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 45 minutes into the game, Danas Nausėda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Branislav Velchevski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dangiras Mačionis made a kick off. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dangiras Mačionis, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd play minute Elpidio Francis came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Enrique Mazza. 2-2. Enrique Mazza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elpidio Francis's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. The corner led ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Miguel Prosperi to fire away a dangerous shot which Enrique Mazza despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Han Yu Feng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enrique Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 72nd minute of the match. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA made a substitution. André Monclús replaced Elpidio Francis. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's attentive Venancio Havier managed to snatch the ball when Lajos Vermes made a throw-in in the 77th minute of the game. In the 78th minute, Miguel Prosperi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, André Monclús ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrique Mazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. 83 minutes into the game, FC Karamba's Dangiras Mačionis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Branislav Velchevski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 88th minute of the match ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a corner. FC Karamba's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Miguel Prosperi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Rafael Dalmu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Dangiras Mačionis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Branislav Velchevski having to interfere. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rimvydas Andrašiūnas in the 94th minute of play. The score was 3-3 after 90 minutes, which forced the match into extra-time.

Arnaldo Gabon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Mazza having to interfere. 104 minutes into the match, FC Karamba's goal looked a bit too open when André Monclús came free, but Enrique Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albinas Matūzas kicked well hit freekick during the 105th minute of the match. Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dangiras Mačionis in the 107th minute of the match. In the 110th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Karamba's goalkeeper Enrique Mazza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With the score at 3-3, the referee blew for the end of the half. The players got a few minutes to recover before they had to start the second half of extra-time.

118 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Danas Nausėda came free, but Branislav Velchevski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dangiras Mačionis in the 119th minute of play. The supporters of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA booed when FC Karamba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 125 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lajos Vermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 130th minute Dangiras Mačionis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Branislav Velchevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Branislav Velchevski had in the 133rdth minute some difficulties stopping Miguel Prosperi's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Han Yu Feng's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Branislav Velchevski on his right side and into the goal. 138 minutes into the game it was 5-3. In the 140th minute there was a penalty for FC Karamba. Vilhelm Jonasson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Branislav Velchevski. 6-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Karamba fans cheered their team off the field, for while ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
