After a rather tough play, Kind of Blue's Anastasios Pallini got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 10th minute of the match Go Ahead Eagles got a corner. Kind of Blue's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cássio Gonçalves ran over to the corner to take the kick. Panos Karagoutis was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Panos Karagoutis got free with Wilhelm Galle in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ardahan Erginer hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Go Ahead Eagles's Iustin Bâru ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wilhelm Galle. Wilhelm Galle yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Epifanio Aznar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kind of Blue's supporters rose to their feet, but Epifanio Aznar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Scarafia Ghost breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, Kind of Blue's goalkeeper Wilhelm Galle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Gonçalves. Wilhelm Galle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Amorebieta in the 23rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Go Ahead Eagles's zone, Zhuo Ke Le stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scarafia Ghost came out of the goal and Zhuo Ke Le tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilhelm Galle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Gonçalves in the 32nd minute of play. Scarafia Ghost made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Käller in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of Kind of Blue booed when Go Ahead Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grigore Mălaimare didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Kind of Blue's Sebastian Käller sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Scarafia Ghost narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Go Ahead Eagles's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joacim Hansson was slow to take the kick. During this time Kind of Blue's players had a chance to rest. Kind of Blue's Joacim Hansson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Scarafia Ghost in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
Go Ahead Eagles's Scarafia Ghost proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Go Ahead Eagles from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Fernando Amorebieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilhelm Galle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Kind of Blue's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Amorebieta came free, but Wilhelm Galle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Go Ahead Eagles's attentive Panos Kaklamanos managed to snatch the ball when Tonhão Rodrigues made a throw-in in the 99th minute of the game. Go Ahead Eagles's Scarafia Ghost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vincent Kellbom in the 101st minute of play. 104 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Östen Högman came free, but Scarafia Ghost reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 104th minute Östen Högman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scarafia Ghost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scarafia Ghost made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Tingberg in the 107th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kjell Tingberg in the 107th minute of play forced Go Ahead Eagles's goalkeeper Scarafia Ghost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kjell Tingberg took the ball and in the 107 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Scarafia Ghost. Scarafia Ghost dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Go Ahead Eagles supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kind of Blue's performance. The match ended with a win for Kind of Blue.
