ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiliam Perez in the 11th minute of play. With a little luck, Atlético Capixaba's Charles de Brito got control of the ball when Elpidio Francis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Cauan Botelho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Branislav Velchevski. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cauan Botelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Atlético Capixaba booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position.
