Gerardo Lordi started the match with the kick off. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Lordi in the 5th minute of play. When Santa Margarita's Gerardo Lordi in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Eber Melivilu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Andréas Hasselqvist came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Santa Margarita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andréas Hasselqvist couldn't finish the play. Andréas Hasselqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA booed when Santa Margarita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo De Francesco didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Lordi in the 35th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 minutes of play, Santa Margarita's Witomir Pisarczyk made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Branislav Velchevski was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Santa Margarita's Pontus Nordström got control of the ball when Elpidio Francis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pontus Nordström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Francis in the 47th minute. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santa Margarita were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elpidio Francis to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Santa Margarita defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pontus Nordström. The Santa Margarita fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pontus Nordström should have stopped the shot. Elpidio Francis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pontus Nordström having to make a save. Andréas Hasselqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Roland Kolacki was substituted for Miguel Prosperi. Witomir Pisarczyk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Santa Margarita's Mauro Icardi in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalie prevented a goal. Branislav Velchevski made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Mauro Icardi sent off a good shot on target.

Santa Margarita's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
