The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carl Carlsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell-Arne Skott in the 2nd minute of the match. Kjell-Arne Skott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kjell-Arne Skott in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carl Carlsson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ragnar Bergkvist took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edvin Bruhn. Edvin Bruhn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kjell-Arne Skott in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carl Carlsson saved DFP from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ragnar Bergkvist in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edvin Bruhn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 34 minutes, Ragnar Bergkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DFP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ragnar Bergkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tommy Beck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Carlsson having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, George Esbjörnsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ronnys Lärjungar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DFP the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Ronnys Lärjungar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Esbjörnsson to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 43 minutes, Jerry Mattsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DFP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerry Mattsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute Kjell-Arne Skott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Carlsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half DFP were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kjell-Arne Skott to make the kick off. Tommy Beck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Carl Carlsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrik Ahlrot kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerry Mattsson in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvin Bruhn saved Ronnys Lärjungar from getting behind. Dan Lang's late challenge caught a Ronnys Lärjungar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dan Lang helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ronnys Lärjungar booed when DFP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Lang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Broberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carl Carlsson. DFP's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ragnar Bergkvist hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Ronnys Lärjungar made a substitution. Sverker Björk replaced Tommy Beck. Ragnar Bergkvist hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, DFP's Sven Hernström got a free kick in the 68th minute. 69 minutes into the match, DFP's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell-Arne Skott came free, but Carl Carlsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Ragnar Bergkvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edvin Bruhn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 76th minute, George Esbjörnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. DFP's Ragnar Bergkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ronnys Lärjungar's Kjell-Arne Skott in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye DFP's goalie prevented a goal. Edvin Bruhn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ragnar Bergkvist in the 79th minute. Ronnys Lärjungar's Edvin Bruhn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Ronnys Lärjungar from getting a goal against them. Carl Carlsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Ahlrot in the 93rd minute of play.
