In the 2nd match minute, Carpathians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Big Blond to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 3 minutes, Nistor Predescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Nistor Predescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 5 minutes into the match, Daddy Gol notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Carpathians's Basarab Pârcălab. Basarab Pârcălab was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Basarab Pârcălab showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daddy Gol in the 8th minute of the match. After 8 minutes, Urs Nebunu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carpathians and the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urs Nebunu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basarab Pârcălab took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daddy Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Marian Aldulescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute Eduard Balc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Pârcălab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mugurel Bleoancă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urs Nebunu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daddy Gol to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Carpathians got a freekick which was hit by Big Blond. In the 54th minute of the match, Sebastian Dziura got a very nice opportunity to score, but Basarab Pârcălab was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 55th minute, Urs Nebunu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Sebastian Dziura could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Basarab Pârcălab however easily saved by the left post. Carpathians's Basarab Pârcălab proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Carpathians from getting a goal against them. When Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Daddy Gol in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 81st minute of the match, Daddy Gol tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Basarab Pârcălab saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Carpathians's Ioan Pantilimon was substituted for Bruno Gotti. 89 minutes into the match, Carpathians's goalkeeper Basarab Pârcălab had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Dziura. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urs Nebunu in the 92nd minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Mugurel Bleoancă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
