ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Remus Vermeşan was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 10th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 15th minute, George Vârșan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bogdan Lobonț acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 16th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Felix Vărzaru. Bogdan Lobonț stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Huștiu's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. With an all-out effort, ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Bogdan Lobonț threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Remus Vermeşan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Narcis Agachi in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rosendo Seguinus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 30 minutes, Narcis Agachi made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Rosendo Seguinus tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Bogdan Lobonț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Huștiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narcis Agachi in the 34th minute of play forced ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s goalkeeper Rosendo Seguinus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Măcriș hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the match, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Bogdan Lobonț had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eugen Lupea. Edgar Măcriș's late challenge caught a ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgar Măcriș helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd match minute, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Măcriș to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Remus Vermeşan got free with Bogdan Lobonț in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bogdan Lobonț made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Remus Vermeşan sent off a good shot on target.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Narcis Agachi to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Remus Vermeşan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Rosendo Seguinus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narcis Agachi in the 56th minute of play. Rosendo Seguinus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narcis Agachi in the 58th minute of the match. Rosendo Seguinus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Narcis Agachi's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. A nice corner shot did that Alexandru Săvulescu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rosendo Seguinus quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 76th minute, Sandu Gheorghiu made a precise shot to the right of Bogdan Lobonț. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After some careless play in the F.C CLUJ MEDICINA defense, Victor Huștiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bogdan Lobonț. The F.C CLUJ MEDICINA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bogdan Lobonț should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s zone, Gigel Bulgar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rosendo Seguinus came out of the goal and Gigel Bulgar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 minutes, Gigel Bulgar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C CLUJ MEDICINA and the ASF BAIA MARE -MM- players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gigel Bulgar hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute Eugen Lupea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Lobonț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
