When Ken Halliday came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Tynemouth Wanderers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ken Halliday couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Stephan Vollmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Darryl Cummings had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Tynemouth Wanderers fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Tynemouth Wanderers's Darryl Cummings looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the game, Dietrich Kleber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VFR Stommeln's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tynemouth Wanderers the free kick. Dietrich Kleber kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. When Ken Halliday came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Tynemouth Wanderers fans jumped to their feet. The coaching staff of VFR Stommeln protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Knut Molkenthin had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. VFR Stommeln:s Patrick Heimann showed great skill when he stopped Ken Halliday:s penalty.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baptist Strachowitz made a kick off. Darryl Cummings might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrick Heimann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darryl Cummings ran back to his position shaking his head. Darryl Cummings struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Patrick Heimann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tynemouth Wanderers. Tynemouth Wanderers made a substitution. John-Paul Amos replaced Darryl Cummings. 71 minutes into the match, VFR Stommeln's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Halliday came free, but Patrick Heimann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tynemouth Wanderers's Liam Roche managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dietrich Kleber in the 75 minute of the game. If John-Paul Amos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The VFR Stommeln fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrick Heimann should have stopped the shot. VFR Stommeln's Patrick Heimann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ken Halliday in the 85th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in VFR Stommeln's zone, John-Paul Amos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Heimann came out of the goal and John-Paul Amos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patrick Heimann made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when John-Paul Amos sent off a good shot on target. John-Paul Amos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Patrick Heimann skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ken Halliday received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Patrick Heimann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
