Beppe Scannella didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pagos FC. In the 18th minute Alekos Papachristou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beppe Scannella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armando Villa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kostas Periandros came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Acilia Town's Armando Villa. But to his dismay, Armando Villa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After some careless play in the Acilia Town defense, Charalambos Lelopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beppe Scannella. The Acilia Town fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beppe Scannella should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute, Alberto Diana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Aurelio Corvasce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute of the match Telis Valsaris shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Beppe Scannella showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Telis Valsaris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beppe Scannella having to interfere. Acilia Town's Felice Burgnich was substituted for Aldo De Cesaris. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Filippos Alexiadis got free with Beppe Scannella in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, Cristiano Falone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th match minute, Acilia Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Diana to maneuver through the defense. Acilia Town's Beppe Scannella proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Acilia Town from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Pagos FC booed when Acilia Town was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Diana didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Acilia Town's zone, Filippos Alexiadis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beppe Scannella came out of the goal and Filippos Alexiadis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Pagos FC's Telis Valsaris got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Gerasimos Maros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Beppe Scannella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
