Daniel Ghigo hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute of the match Panos Thomaidis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sílvio Luiz Alcântara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to AFC Ajax getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Panos Thomaidis hit a great ball. In the 8thth minute of the game Angelo Abela who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Ajax's Lakis Megas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 11 minutes, Sílvio Luiz Alcântara successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jacob Mahoney's late challenge caught a AFC Ajax's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacob Mahoney helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Jacob Mahoney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lakis Megas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neil Micallef, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Neil Micallef fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th match minute, AFC Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ermis Panteliadis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Abela in the 26th minute of play forced AFC Ajax's goalkeeper Lakis Megas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Swatar United FC's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz Alcântara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Angelo Abela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lakis Megas having to interfere. After 35 minutes AFC Ajax's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kurt Francalanza who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Swatar United FC's corner Kurt Francalanza fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lakis Megas quite easily take care of the ball. Nontas Livaditis in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sílvio Luiz Alcântara, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. AFC Ajax's Nontas Livaditis was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 39th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Swatar United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Daskalakis came free, but Sílvio Luiz Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Angelo Abela to make the kick off. Swatar United FC's Sílvio Luiz Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Daskalakis in the 59th minute of play. Ismael Gulia hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. AFC Ajax's Kostas Kanonidis was substituted for Stamatis Giotas. AFC Ajax's Gerasimos Liakos was substituted for Vassilis Maniatis. After a rather tough play, Swatar United FC's Ismael Gulia got a free kick in the 61st minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Charis Katydis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Ajax's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charis Katydis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ermis Panteliadis kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Sílvio Luiz Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charis Katydis, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Ermis Panteliadis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luiz Alcântara having to interfere. In the 89th minute Ermis Panteliadis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Luiz Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charis Katydis struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Sílvio Luiz Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Ajax. Jacob Mahoney was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jacob Mahoney hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Kostas Kanonidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AFC Ajax fans cheered their team off the field, for while Swatar United FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
