Spectators: 175 (Terracing: 132, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) Paulo Teinturier started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 5th minute Themos Vranas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustave Lechat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Lechat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Soulis Partalis. Gustave Lechat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themos Vranas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Themos Vranas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Themos Vranas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Gustave Lechat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Themos Vranas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Gustave Lechat skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Olympiacos FC's Xosé Lim got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Eustratios Vertsotis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Teinturier in the 24th minute of play. Eustratios Vertsotis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Teinturier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 minutes of play, R.C. Marseille's Paulo Teinturier made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eustratios Vertsotis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Noël Casimir hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. With a little luck, R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat got control of the ball when Themos Vranas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, R.C. Marseille's Bart Vetter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eustratios Vertsotis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A hard shot 41 in the game by Themos Vranas from a close distance when the talented Gustave Lechat managed to make a qualified save. R.C. Marseille's players were relieved. The Olympiacos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. R.C. Marseille were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Themos Vranas made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Florent Travers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olympiacos FC's Eustratios Vertsotis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Teinturier in the 56th minute of play. Themos Vranas kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Themos Vranas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd match minute, R.C. Marseille was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Dubar to maneuver through the defense. Gustave Lechat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Themos Vranas, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Alexis Kotsanakis took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustave Lechat. Gustave Lechat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. When Olympiacos FC's Themos Vranas in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye R.C. Marseille's goalie prevented a goal. Eustratios Vertsotis was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Paulo Teinturier capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Paulo Teinturier really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Eustratios Vertsotis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Teinturier in the 89th minute of the match. A collision led to R.C. Marseille getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Florent Travers hit a great ball. Themos Vranas struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Gustave Lechat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olympiacos FC. Themos Vranas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Gustave Lechat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Themos Vranas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Lechat having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched R.C. Marseille eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
