In the 3rd minute, Noël Casimir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, AC Collins's Cesare Barberio got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 12th minute, Mel Önen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pekko Rino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Lechat having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Teinturier in the 16th minute of play forced AC Collins's goalkeeper Donato Foddis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Pekko Rino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gustave Lechat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 20th match minute, R.C. Marseille was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noël Casimir to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Pekko Rino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gustave Lechat. R.C. Marseille's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pekko Rino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Donato Foddis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart Vetter in the 30th minute of the match. Pekko Rino might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustave Lechat. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pekko Rino ran back to his position shaking his head. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pekko Rino in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, AC Collins's Pekko Rino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustave Lechat narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gustave Lechat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pekko Rino in the 35th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, R.C. Marseille was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Chausson to maneuver through the defense. Pekko Rino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pekko Rino in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute Mel Önen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustave Lechat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Mel Önen made a precise shot to the right of Gustave Lechat. R.C. Marseille's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After the first half AC Collins were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pekko Rino made a kick off. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pekko Rino in the 51st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pekko Rino in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustave Lechat saved R.C. Marseille from getting behind. AC Collins made a substitution. Edinho do Nascimento replaced Pekko Rino. AC Collins's Perivaldo Furtado was substituted for Slawomir Soszka. In the 70th minute, William Chausson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noël Casimir charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noël Casimir the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to R.C. Marseille getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Noël Casimir hit a great ball. R.C. Marseille's Noël Casimir got his second yellow card of the match in the 73rd minute. The referee ordered Noël Casimir off the ground. Noël Casimir kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinho do Nascimento in the 77th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Perivaldo Furtado got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Gustave Lechat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edinho do Nascimento in the 93rd minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. AC Collins walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
