Les Pionniers de Touraine's Bixente Morio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giacomo Guarisi in the 20th minute of play. Barnabé Dambrine could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Attilio Silveri made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Atletico Benevento's Reynardo Cerrillo got a free kick in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the match, Atletico Benevento's goalkeeper Attilio Silveri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moussa Blanquart.
