Egoi Nunezs short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Paulo Fagundes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 9th match minute, F.C. Sant Sabo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Maldonado to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of F.C. Sant Sabo booed when Lima Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. F.C. Sant Sabo's Cláudio-André Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Gois in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Lima Team's Tomás Gois sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cláudio-André Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 20th minute Lima Team were awarded a corner. Wilson Frois went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Wilson Frois almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but F.C. Sant Sabo's Cláudio-André Taffarel did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Gois in the 21st minute of play forced F.C. Sant Sabo's goalkeeper Cláudio-André Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio-André Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomás Gois took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio-André Taffarel. Cláudio-André Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 30 minutes into the game, Michael Maldonado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. Sant Sabo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lima Team the free kick. The supporters of Lima Team booed when F.C. Sant Sabo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Maldonado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nélson Bentes might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cláudio-André Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nélson Bentes ran back to his position shaking his head. Honorato Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cláudio-André Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Gois in the 35th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Honorato Amaral notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of F.C. Sant Sabo's Cláudio-André Taffarel. Cláudio-André Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Nélson Bentes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 52 minutes, Victor Palacios mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. Sant Sabo and the Lima Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paulo Fagundes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitin Ziguenza in the 56th minute of the match. Tomás Gois fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio-André Taffarel having to interfere. Victor Palacios hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Sant Sabo's zone, Nélson Bentes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio-André Taffarel came out of the goal and Nélson Bentes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Fagundes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egoi Nunez's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. In the 72nd minute, Severiano Lucena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to F.C. Sant Sabo getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Victor Palacios hit a great ball. Wilson Frois took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cláudio-André Taffarel. F.C. Sant Sabo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, Lima Team's Tomás Gois nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cláudio-André Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Honorato Amaral struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Cláudio-André Taffarel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lima Team. The supporters of F.C. Sant Sabo booed when Lima Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Câmara didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egoi Nunez in the 96th minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Paulo Fagundes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lima Team's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
