In the 12th match minute, DPD FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belchior Valadares to maneuver through the defense. Gregório Carvalhal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Pais having to interfere. After having played for 16 minutes, Luís Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GD JULIO DINIS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Pires might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nuno Pais. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Pires ran back to his position shaking his head. If Luís Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. DPD FC's Nuno Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregório Carvalhal in the 28th minute of play. DPD FC's Higino Lameiras got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Higino Lameiras managed to get in a good position for a shot. DPD FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Higino Lameiras was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Semedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 38 minutes into the game, GD JULIO DINIS's Paulo Aleixo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nuno Pais made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 41st minute, Paulo Aleixo made a precise shot to the right of Nuno Pais. DPD FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. A collision led to GD JULIO DINIS getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Diamantino Mourinho hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jairo Setúbal made a kick off. After 59 played minutes DPD FC got a freekick which was hit by Higino Lameiras. After a defensive mix-up in DPD FC's zone, Paulo Aleixo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Pais came out of the goal and Paulo Aleixo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the DPD FC defense, Sérgio Barroso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nuno Pais. The DPD FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nuno Pais should have stopped the shot. Nuno Pais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Barroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Afonso Belém fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DPD FC's protests and gave Afonso Belém a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to DPD FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Afonso Belém hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Alexandre Palha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nuno Pais skillfully saved the ball. In the 77th minute, Sérgio Barroso fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nuno Pais, passed just outside the right post. After 78 played minutes DPD FC got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Mourão. After having played for 85 minutes, Paulo Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GD JULIO DINIS played a much better game than DPD FC and deserved their victory. The DPD FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
