Mancini's Romeo Rienda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jose Manuel Sempere made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience was convinced that Juan Sánchez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elvis Ribeiro was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Neto Diaz's late challenge caught a Tirant lo Blanch's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Manuel Sempere came out of the goal and Romeo Rienda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elvis Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Sánchez, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Rodolfo Ortiz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jose Manuel Sempere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Romeo Rienda reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jose Manuel Sempere. The goal made the score 2-1. U.D. Mancini's Elvis Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Sánchez in the 47th minute of play.

After 55 minutes, Alain Morientes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tirant lo Blanch and the U.D. Mancini players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tirant lo Blanch getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Alain Morientes hit a great ball. U.D. Mancini made a substitution. Mingo Macia replaced Rodolfo Ortiz. U.D. Mancini support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
