Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of FC DNV Bratiskava:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fire Devils:s goal. Pavol Chmelo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andy Vincent in the 9th minute. Fire Devils's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Franco Verdon in the 11th minute. Matej Petluš tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Pavol Chmelo. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-0 in the 11th minute. Marek Havran kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Vincent in the 16th minute of play forced FC DNV Bratiskava's goalkeeper Pavol Chmelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Fire Devils's Denis Lambrozzi got a free kick in the 20th minute. Bohuš Dačev struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Walter Fransson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC DNV Bratiskava. After 39 minutes, Tibor Partil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC DNV Bratiskava and the Fire Devils players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC DNV Bratiskava's Tibor Partil got a free kick in the 39th minute. 46 minutes into the match, FC DNV Bratiskava's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Vincent came free, but Pavol Chmelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denis Lambrozzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavol Chmelo having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 54 played minutes FC DNV Bratiskava got a freekick which was hit by Tibor Partil. Pavol Chmelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Vincent in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bohuš Dačev in the 66th minute of play forced Fire Devils's goalkeeper Walter Fransson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, FC DNV Bratiskava's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Vincent came free, but Pavol Chmelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bohuš Dačev blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walter Fransson having to make a save. Walter Fransson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bohuš Dačev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pavol Chmelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Vincent, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Andy Vincent managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fire Devils's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Vincent was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavol Chmelo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pavol Chmelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Lambrozzi in the 78th minute of play. Denis Lambrozzi scored 3-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pavol Chmelo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 87 minutes into the match, Fire Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Bohuš Dačev came free, but Walter Fransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute of the match FC DNV Bratiskava got a corner. Fire Devils's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tibor Partil ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Tibor Partil got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Walter Fransson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Francis Aberle hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Pavol Chmelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Lambrozzi in the 91st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denis Lambrozzi in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pavol Chmelo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of FC DNV Bratiskava booed when Fire Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Paterson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matej Petluš took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Walter Fransson. Fire Devils's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fire Devils's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
