The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Silvo Puh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NK FOLKROLA and the FC Kopeto players grew even worse after the yellow card. Veselko Recko had in the 4thth minute some difficulties stopping Stanislav Hajduk's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Jakub Picka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Rožman in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Rožman in the 11th minute of play forced FC Kopeto's goalkeeper Jakub Picka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FC Kopeto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jakub Picka should have stopped the shot. In the 28th minute of the match, Andrej Vindar got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jakub Picka was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. FC Kopeto were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after NK FOLKROLA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henrich Suchomel took the corner. Silvo Puh thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Veselko Recko, a very annoying self made goal in the 34th minute which led to 1-2. In the 39th minute, NK FOLKROLA's David Rožman ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jakub Picka. Jakub Picka yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 42nd minute, Andrej Vindar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Stanislav Hajduk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Veselko Recko. NK FOLKROLA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stanislav Hajduk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henrich Suchomel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomáš Berousek got free with Veselko Recko in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jakub Picka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrej Vindar in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th minute, NK FOLKROLA's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Stanislav Hajduk fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 80th minute David Rožman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jakub Picka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanislav Hajduk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Veselko Recko made a huge save. After 83 played minutes FC Kopeto got a freekick which was hit by Koloman Hajšman.
