After having played for 16 minutes, Popcorn Knoblauch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Wil 1900's supporters crossed their fingers, but Popcorn Knoblauch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th minute, Tim Beck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, FV Wienerwald's goalkeeper Norman-Alexander Wellmann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yann Wirz. Karim Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norman-Alexander Wellmann having to interfere. Lew Maurer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörg Moratschke, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Elia Walther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Jörg Moratschke came free, but Lew Maurer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norman-Alexander Wellmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elia Walther in the 28th minute of play. Frank-Dieter Strauss charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank-Dieter Strauss the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Wil 1900 booed when FV Wienerwald was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank-Dieter Strauss didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philipp Haberer in the 35th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lew Maurer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-André Dospel came free, but Lew Maurer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Wil 1900's Sidney Seiler suffered a sore thigh after 40 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 40 minutes, Jörg Moratschke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FV Wienerwald and the FC Wil 1900 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 played minutes FV Wienerwald got a freekick which was hit by Jörg Moratschke. FV Wienerwald's Norman-Alexander Wellmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save FV Wienerwald from getting a goal against them. In the 46th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benoit Lukas to maneuver through the defense. Lew Maurer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörg Moratschke in the 48th minute of the match. The FC Wil 1900 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FV Wienerwald were winning 0-1.

Norman-Alexander Wellmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olivier Ostermann's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After 59 minutes of play, FV Wienerwald's Jörg Moratschke made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lew Maurer was left in no man's land by his defense there! FV Wienerwald made a substitution. Gregor Rühmann replaced Jan-André Dospel. 65 minutes into the game, Olivier Ostermann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Norman-Alexander Wellmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karim Gerber in the 68th minute of play forced FV Wienerwald's goalkeeper Norman-Alexander Wellmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Jörg Moratschke had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lew Maurer. FC Wil 1900's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jörg Moratschke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. FC Wil 1900's Lew Maurer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kai van de Sand in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, FV Wienerwald was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank-Dieter Strauss to maneuver through the defense. Lew Maurer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kai van de Sand in the 81st minute of play. FV Wienerwald's Norman-Alexander Wellmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olivier Ostermann in the 85th minute of play. Frank-Dieter Strauss kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Norman-Alexander Wellmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karim Gerber in the 89th minute of play. When Adriano Bollhalder fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Wil 1900's protests and gave Adriano Bollhalder a yellow card for diving instead. Adriano Bollhalder kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. A collision led to FV Wienerwald getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Tim Beck hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Olivier Ostermann sped through FV Wienerwald's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Norman-Alexander Wellmann. After 95 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Götz Venkataramanappa. The FC Wil 1900 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FV Wienerwald's performance. The match ended with a win for FV Wienerwald.
