The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for De Digitale Dribbelaars. Pascal Vledder had in the 64thth minute some difficulties stopping Milton Nascimento's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Jasper Schildkamp fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored De Digitale Dribbelaars's protests and gave Jasper Schildkamp a yellow card for diving instead.
