Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's João Carlos Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Henrique in the 17th minute of play. João Carlos Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Henrique, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. João Carlos Paraíba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dênis Alcântara in the 20th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, João Carlos Paraíba successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Gato Preto FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chicão Peixoto should have stopped the shot. Gato Preto FC's Chicão Peixoto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Heidemann FC - FSCMZ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomás Pinheiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Gato Preto FC booed when Heidemann FC - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position.
