Lucas Paquette hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Elói Branco might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Catarinense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elói Branco ran back to his position shaking his head. 8 minutes into the match, Diamonds FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aírton Queirós came free, but Alberto Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elói Branco in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Guto de Amaral notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Quebra Ossos FC's Richard Breckenfeld. Richard Breckenfeld was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 14th match minute, Diamonds FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago Silva to maneuver through the defense. After 18 minutes, Lucas Paquette mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Diamonds FC and the Quebra Ossos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alberto Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu Saldanha, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gugu Saldanha in the 25th minute of play forced Diamonds FC's goalkeeper Alberto Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Diamonds FC's zone, Aírton Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Catarinense came out of the goal and Aírton Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Telmo Salles's late challenge caught a Diamonds FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Telmo Salles helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Quebra Ossos FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Telmo Salles hit a great ball. Thiago Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Breckenfeld having to interfere. In the 34th minute Gugu Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton Queirós in the 36th minute of play. Guto de Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Quebra Ossos FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Sílvio Corrêa hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, Guto de Amaral fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Richard Breckenfeld, passed just outside the right post. 44 minutes into the match, Diamonds FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Saldanha came free, but Alberto Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Guto de Amaral made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aírton Queirós got free with Alberto Catarinense in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sílvio Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Catarinense having to interfere. Richard Breckenfeld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Paquette in the 71st minute of the match. In the 78th minute of the match, Sílvio Corrêa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alberto Catarinense was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 88 minutes into the game, Gugu Saldanha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quebra Ossos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diamonds FC the free kick. After 88 played minutes Quebra Ossos FC got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Saldanha. Richard Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guto de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Quebra Ossos FC's Elói Branco got a free kick in the 89th minute. Lucas Paquette blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richard Breckenfeld having to make a save. Diamonds FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
