With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jardel Mula in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Medeiros saved VARGINHA FC from getting behind. A collision led to Coice de Mula getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Joel Rezende hit a great ball. Vágner Arósio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luís Eduardo Rossi. Coice de Mula's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gabriel Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Mula in the 7th minute of play. Luís Eduardo Rossi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulão Nóbrega's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. After a rather tough play, VARGINHA FC's Vágner Arósio got a free kick in the 10th minute. VARGINHA FC's Gabriel Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Neves in the 13th minute of play. Jardel Mula received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Gabriel Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Coice de Mula defense, Denílson Vidal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Eduardo Rossi. The Coice de Mula fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Eduardo Rossi should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Nóbrega in the 18th minute of play forced Coice de Mula's goalkeeper Luís Eduardo Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Clóvis Guedes fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coice de Mula's protests and gave Clóvis Guedes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of VARGINHA FC booed when Coice de Mula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Coice de Mula getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Eugênio Travassos hit a great ball. Luís Eduardo Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denílson Vidal in the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of Coice de Mula booed when VARGINHA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute of the match Jardel Mula shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gabriel Medeiros showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 44 played minutes VARGINHA FC got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Maciel. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jardel Mula made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Coice de Mula's Fernando Lara seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Fernando Lara the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Coice de Mula protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Fernando Lara had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Coice de Mula! 57 minutes into the game, Claudinei Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coice de Mula's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VARGINHA FC the free kick. 62 minutes into the match, Coice de Mula's goal looked a bit too open when Paulão Nóbrega came free, but Luís Eduardo Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Nóbrega in the 65th minute of play forced Coice de Mula's goalkeeper Luís Eduardo Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, William Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coice de Mula's supporters rose to their feet, but William Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gabriel Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Neves in the 71st minute of play. Denílson Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, VARGINHA FC's Guilherme do Vale got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 2-1 when William Neves sped through VARGINHA FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gabriel Medeiros. In the 87th minute Paulão Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 minutes, Paulão Nóbrega mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VARGINHA FC and the Coice de Mula players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th minute, Paulão Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
